Upcoming Drama Field Trip
If you read are previous posts on the Art classes, then you should know that in LJA there are four Art subjects you can pick from. On Wednesday (which is tomorrow) the whole 6th grade will go on a field trip. This field trip ties in with the Arts because the Drama teacher, Mr. Gaines, will be featuring in this field trip. We will be watching a play that Mr. Gaines will be in! The play we'll be watching is called "Noodle, Noodle Box". The play shows the 4 agreements and friendship. This post is just a friendly reminder to the 6th graders of LJA and something that we will be doing. I hope you guys like this post and I hope everyone enjoys the field trip tomorrow!

Drama Class At LJA Part 2
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to tell you about one of the Art classes you can take at Le Jardin Academy. There are four Art classes you can choose from; Arts (Visual), band, chorus, and drama. Today I'll be telling you about Drama class. Drama class is a very fun and interesting class. The teacher of this class is Mr. Gaines. He is very funny and very good at what he does. The class takes place in the Harold Theatre. You get to play a lot of awesome games, and learn about very interesting things about acting, staging, and much more. There are also many plays that you need to go to for homework. You also get to work in groups and even brainstorm and write your own play! Drama class has a very fun learning experience. I highly recommend this Art to LJA students.
You can read part 1 on our blog about the experience of taking Chorus at LJA.

Be Loud!
When you sing, it's good to have a loud, projective voice. When I mean loud, I don't mean screaming, I just mean to raise the volume of your voice while you sing. Having a projective singing voice is good for you and the audience. It's good for the audience because it is easier to hear when you're up front or have to listen from farther away. It's good for you, the singer, because it will be so much easier to hit higher and harder notes.
To have a loud singing voice, you need to open your mouth wide and push your diaphragm. You need to do this because it will be easier to push a lot of air out which will make your voice louder.
A good voice exercise to make your voice louder, is to scream as loud as you can from high notes, and all the way to your lowest note. First you need to scream as loud as you can from your lowest voice. Then you gradually sing higher and higher notes until you reach your highest. You need to do this the loudest you can, or else it won't work. On your last note, you need to hold it as long as you can. You can feel and hear the results in just a few weeks, if you keep it up. Warning, you should never do this for a long time, or else you'll lose your voice for a few days. The recommended amount of time to do this exercise is about seven times a day. You should also not do this exercise close to a performance. If you have a performance, you should do this exercise the night before. This will give it time to work and not affect your voice in a bad way. If you're feeling risky, you can do this exercise about eight to ten hours before your performance.
Having a loud projective voice can help your singing voice in many different ways. It can also give you a sense of confidence when you perform. I'm sure that the audience will be blown away by your awesome projective voice.
