1 year: SUMMER UPDATES

Hey guys, its been so long since I've posted anything hasn't it? Well hope you guys are having a wonderful summer, I am now at Mid Pacific Institute but I have some updates on this art blog to share. I am now going in to the eighth grade and signed up for some arts I really enjoyed taking last year. The experience at my new school has been amazing, and I would like to spread the word on how fantastic their art program is there, the teachers are truly amazing because they really make you enjoy what your studying and put so much passion into making you better and better in what you do. I've been in the music program for one year now and got really into music, I now love playing bassoon. For those of you who never heard of that instrument, a bassoon is a double reed instrument commonly played in orchestras and symphonies but can played in band as well. If I haven't come to Mid Pacific I don't think I would have appreciated music as much as I do now, music taught me so much, it taught me how hard work and dedication can lead to success (not just in music but in life).   I've made some drawings on most of the common band instruments played in our school band

At Mid Pacific I have really enjoyed their dance program most because the class feel like a safe learning environment, and the teachers are knowledgeable about dance, and are in your best interest. The classes are challenging and always give you something where you can improve. Before I joined their dance program, I didn't have very much interests, I didn't see all these wonderful opportunities Mid Pacific gave me, not just Mid Pac, but dance it self, has taught me that if you can put your mind to it you can succeed in anything. It was funny a year ago before I started dance I thought wow I never getting to level 2, now the time has come and I look back and realized I have a come a long way, dance has changed how I see the world, dance has taught me how to express my self and  how important team work is
Thanks I'm looking forward to a great year!

The Art of Magic

Hello and welcome back to the arts blog, long time no see! Anyway today I am going to be talking about a kind of art that you probably have not even thought up as art, but todays art, is magic. I have been learning magic for two years now, it started at a summer school class that teaches you all the secrets of a magician. Now I am learning even more tricks from my sister who is a TA for that class. This is a great art because this involves acting, and different techniques and styles of how a magician performs. There is many ways you can express your feeling such as excited, puzzled, etc. when performing. It is a great way to entertain you and other people, it is a true art of acting. For example a card trick and here is one. There is also many kinds of magic tricks performed, such as card tricks, rope tricks, ball tricks, vanishing, and reappearing tricks, etc. There is also so many ways to perform the same magic trick. Well I hope this video gives you an idea how magic and the performing of it makes up a true art talent.

How to Draw a Tessellation

Hey guys, it's me here today! I would like to teach you guys how to draw a tessellation! First of all for those of you who don't know what a tessellation is, well tessellations are flat surface of geometric shapes creating a pattern there are many kinds of tessellations, such as the ones you see on many fabrics. Today you are lucky and get to draw one! Some tools you will need

  1. Pencil
  2. A square trace
  3. Math compass
  4. Ruler
  5. graph paper
Now that you have those items you are set to go, tessellations are quite simple but take a long time to complete depending on what design or how big your paper is. The first steps
  1. Start by drawing a point in the middle of your graph paper
  2. Get your square and make a square around the dot should be even such as having four squares around the dot
  3. Now get you compass and trace your circle right by the edges of the square, this guides you for the next square you will draw
  4. Now draw rotate you sqaure about 1/4 of a way and make sure to line it up between the circle and the lines you should end up with something like this

Now you can either erase the circle and the inside of the outline and make an 8 pointed star or you can make a more complex pattern such as this one, if you would like to make the more complex one continue reading the instructions below
  1. Use your ruler to make lines between each little corner of the outline your result should look something like this below

Now all you have to do is erase the circle around it, erase the little squares the corners of the darker outline pictured above, now you will have to erase the inside and you should end up with this pattern continue the same process until you fill the page.
Here should what it look like when done erasing. Then once you have this and filled the page up with the same shape now decorate the shapes with designs and you got your tessellation!

In this design I tried to focus things on unique designs that match as kind of a theme.
I you would like to take the time to fill out the survey please do, it would mean a lot to me! I really would like to get the best results for this badge and my design for my design class thank you for reading this!

My Final Badge Design

Hello I am back on the arts blog and so sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile I have kind of took a break from drawing and have been working on my other blog http://animaljamfans4ever.blogspot.com/. Anyways if you have seen my previous post http://ljathearts.blogspot.com/2016/03/new-badge-assignment-for-design-tips-on.html. for designing badges then here is my final product that I will move into it digitally using vector graphics.
My badge I am designing is a badge that represents the word principled. The IB definition of principled means:We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness
and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences. So decided to draw someone doing the right thing in a cute way by using street signs and a path. As you can see there is a person following the right ways sign representing the the part of taking action for both actions and consequences.
